When a New York couple is facing the end of their marriage, it can often be a difficult process. Emotions can run high, and there is a lot to consider when it comes to the variety of issues that have to be addressed.

The first is their own financial situation, including income, job prospects, debts and assets. The second is the financial situation of the other spouse. The third of course is any jointly-held property or obligations that must be dealt with. The failure to consider all of these can result in an unfair settlement.
